The Data Collection Instrument for 2027–28 surveys was published, alongside a "Connecting with the Secretariat" session on Standard 7 in AY 2027–28. Key message: expect deletions, consolidations, and migrations of elements across standards — and don't be alarmed by gaps in element numbering. The March 2026 edition of Functions and Structure of a Medical School — the standards and elements effective July 1, 2027. Notable revisions: Element 7.2 now includes the appropriate use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in diagnosis and patient management; Element 7.6 was redesigned around self-directed learning; Element 7.7 now addresses factors contributing to disparate health outcomes and health systems.
